‘Census of India 2011’, one of the world's biggest survey has been undertaken by Govt. of India.
CENSUS has been conducted in two phases,
i) Houselisting and Housing Census (HL) with Preaparing National Population Register (NPR) and
ii) Population Enumeration.

In Gujarat, Houselisting survey and Preparation of National Population Register has been conducted from 21st April to 4th June 2010.
Population Enumeration has been conducted from 9-28 February 2011 all over India.

The basic purpose of this elementary exercise is to prepare a frame without omission or duplication of any area for conducting the population enumeration during 9th - 28th February, 2011.
The Housing Census, thus in someway, is a prelude to the actual population count of the census. The exercise also entailed collection of a wide range of data on housing, amenities and the assets available to the household.

The NPR programme has been linked to the census exercise. The NPR, a comprehensie identity database, will faciliate the creation of a biometrics-bases identity system in the country, allowing identity cards for all citizens.

Population Enumeration has been conducted from 9th to 28th February 2011

The information collected about individuals will be kept confidential
So, do not hide anything while answering questions. The forms collected from individuals will be destroyed after coputerization. This raw data will not be shared with anybody / any organisation.
